Bernstein moves into the ‘Elite 8’ of European research firms and includes an all-time record number of teams in the top 10.

The Extel (formerly Institutional Investor) 2024 European Research survey has ranked Bernstein #8 across Developed Europe (up from #9 in 2023), reflecting the depth and breadth of its research offering, recently enhanced through the joint venture with Societe Generale.

Bernstein, including Autonomous, now has 28 sector teams ranked in the top 10 in Europe for sector coverage (up from 15 in 2023). This is the highest number of equity analyst teams featured in the survey since Bernstein’s European market entry in 2000. Our Sustainability team jumped from 13th to 6th this year. Our France Small and Mid-Cap Research team was ranked 3rd.

The competitive annual survey is based on feedback from the world’s most influential investors. These rankings are therefore testament to the strength of Bernstein’s client relationships and longstanding commitment to deliver best-in-class research and market-leading insights.

Trevor Stirling, Head of Bernstein’s European Beverages team has been inducted into the European Institutional Investor Hall of Fame, while Guillaume Delaby, Oil Services and Bruno Monteyne, Household & Personal Care Products are among the top-ranked analysts in their respective sectors in Europe.

Sector teams of note include Oil Services (moved up to #5 from #15), Sustainability (moved up to #6 from #13) and Household & Personal Care Products (up to #4 from #5).
